Creating graffiti is on my list of things to do in life so I got to check that off when I threw paint and sprayed on some letters when we were creating our brand new graffiti set. We have this concrete wall that I've always wanted to paint or graffiti, but I've never had the right combination of knowledge, time and gumption.
Todd Van Fleet, a friend of ours who is a graffiti artist, graphic artist and photographer from Colorado was here for a class for photographers and we talked him into staying and creating the main art work. He thought it would be great if we could get the whole wall painted while he was here so he suggested that we throw paint on part of the wall.
That was super fun. I was having such a good time throwing the paint that I ran home and got all of our kids to be involved. I didn't think about the fact that we were using enamel paint so they were covered in paint for the next few weeks. Safe or fun? Which mom am I?
Jack and Ethan were at the studio for their 3 year pictures so they came down to the graffiti wall for a few shots. They helped us out getting some paint on the tire part of the set. We had them pose with the spray cans until they figured out how to work them.
Meagan Klenda and Emily Smith, both 2010 FACES models, had great outfits that matched the graffiti wall, too. We have so many different options of how to shoot it. I'm looking forward to being creative with this new look all summer long.
